The stand (10) has a perpendicular stand column (12) and a plate or frame-shaped music sheet carrier (16) attached at an upper end of the column. The sheet carrier is fastened in a position that is laterally shifted opposite to a symmetrical central position at the column, and is fastened alternatively in different positions at the column. A ferrule (26) is fastened at the upper end of the column. A horizontal bar (36) attached at a lower side of the carrier is held in the ferrule and is adjustable in a longitudinal direction in a detached condition of the ferrule.
