Heading C2C. o-Anilino-phenylacetic acids of the general formula wherein R 1 is a C 1-4 alkyl or C 1-4 alkoxy group, a fluorine or chlorine atom or the trifluoromethyl group; R 2 is a hydrogen atom or is defined as R 1 ; R 3 is a hydrogen atom, a C 1-4 alkyl or C 1-4 alkoxy group or a fluorine or chlorine atom; R 4 is defined as R 2 ; and R 5 and R 6 are each a hydrogen atom or a C 1-2 alkyl or benzyl group, and when R 6 is a hydrogen atom R 5 is a C 1-5 alkyl group, are prepared by reaction of a 2-indolinone derivative and a substituted halobenzene of the respective general formulµ wherein Hal is bromine or iodine, in the presence of an acid binding agent and, if necessary, a catalyst. [o - (2,3 - Xylidino) - phenyl] - acetic acid is a novel compound.</p> |
