[Also in Division B8] Conveying apparatus for bars, suitable for use as a rolling mill cooling bed, comprises pairs of staggered, freely rotatable, discs 1 and 2 between which links 6 are movable to transfer bars progressively across the discs (Figs. 4-7, not shown). The bars are progressively rotated as they are conveyed over the discs. In one form the links 6 are carried on pins 7 whose ends are provided with rollers 8 engaging with guide rails. Alternatively, the links may be attached to chains 11 and 12, Fig. 8. The chains are suitably reciprocated to move bars 3 across the discs, the links on their return movement passing beneath the bars.</p> |
