PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication system for respectively changing codec systems used by a transmitting side radio terminal and a receiving side radio terminal in accordance with amount of bandwidth used by an access point device in particular about the radio communication system having the access point device capable of performing radio communication with the allowable number of radio terminals determined in accordance with the amount of bandwidth. SOLUTION: When transmitting side band data showing band traffic required for communication including the transmitting side radio terminal exceeds first transmitting side threshold data showing amount of bandwidth to be reference for determining whether to change a codec system of a radio terminal, the access point device receiving transmission request information changes encoding system data attached to the transmission request information to encoding system data with a smaller number of use bands. When receiving side band data exceeds first receiving side threshold data, the access point device receiving receiving request information changes encoding system data attached to the receiving request information to encoding system data with a smaller number of use bands.
