PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ESD protection circuit which reliably protects an internal circuit of an LSI from an ESD current. SOLUTION: An NMOS 9 diode-connected between a power supply terminal 1 and a ground terminal 2 in a reverse direction is provided as a protection element, and a bandwidth preventing filter 10 for preventing a frequency component of the ESD current from passing is provided between the power supply terminal 1 and an internal circuit 4. Thus, the ESD current of a high frequency component is prevented from flowing into the internal circuit 4 by the filter 10. If the potential VDD of the power supply terminal 1 rises, the NMOS 9 of the protection element is first broken down. Thus, the voltage of the power supply terminal 1 is reduced and the internal circuit 4 is protected from the ESD current. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
