PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new lanthanoid complex and a normal temperature phosphorescence emitting material. SOLUTION: The complex represented by general formula (1) is provided (wherein, X<SB>1</SB>is H, deuterium (D), a halogen atom, an alkyl, an alkyl halide or the like; Y<SB>1</SB>and Y<SB>2</SB>are each independently H, D, an alkyl, an alkyl halide or the like; and Z<SB>1</SB>to Z<SB>6</SB>are each independently an alkyl, an alkyl halide or the like), wherein, the minimum excitation triplet energy of at least one ligand acts on gadolinium complex having lower excitation energy than that of gadolinium atom.
