摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for producing a liquid crystal aligning film capable of forming a homogeneous and flat liquid crystal aligning film without stripe marks and film irregularities by using a droplet discharging unit, and to provide a manufacturing process for a liquid crystal display device having a step of forming the liquid crystal aligning film by coating the composition on a substrate surface by use of the discharging unit. SOLUTION: This composition for producing the liquid crystal aligning film comprises (A) a solvent mixture containing a≥95 wt.% good solvent based on the total solvents and a poor solvent, and (B) a material for producing a liquid crystal aligning film, in which the good solvent is composed ofγ-butyrolactone and at least one solvent of≥5 wt.% based on the total solvents selected from the group consisting of a phenolic solvent and an aprotic polar solvent excludingγ-butyrolactone. The preparation process for the liquid crystal display device comprises a step of producing the liquid crystal aligning film comprising coating the composition on the substrate surface by use of the discharging unit.
