PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of determining the order of washing by separately evaluating the filth of washing water before injection of the washing water and the stain on dishes. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises a water feeding means for feeding washing water to a washing tub 2, spray nozzles 4 and 4 for spraying the washing water fed to the washing tub 2 toward the dishes, and a turbidity sensor 10 having a light emitting part 11 for emitting light into the washing water and a light receiving part 12 for receiving the light from the light emitting part 11. The dishwasher determines the order of washing based on the quantity of light received by the light receiving part 12 and controls the spray of the washing water in the determined order of washing. The dishes also has a light quantity obtaining means for obtaining a first quantity of light received by the light receiving part 12 when the washing water is fed by the water feeding means and second and third quantities of light received by the light receiving part 12 before and after the spray of the washing water from the spray nozzles 4 and 4 respectively, and a determining means for determining the order of washing based on the first, second and third quantities of light obtained by the light quantity obtaining means.
