PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display panel in which a sealant leakage path production caused by a contact of a liquid crystal with an unhardened sealant in a sealing step is prevented, and a method for manufacturing the liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel, which has a display region formed with a liquid crystal in a gap between one substrate and the other substrate, is constructed by arranging a dam 3a continuously formed so as to surround and pass around the display region and a sealant 7 placed so as to cover the dam 3a on a surface of the one substrate 1a.
