Optimal, high-quality slice piece specimens can be made automatically depending on the type of an embedding block while the burden on a worker can be reduced. The automatic device (1) for making slice piece specimens comprises a first conveyance means (3) for conveying an embedding cassette (K) to a cutting position, a means (5) for cutting an embedding block (B) with a predetermined thickness after the cassette is conveyed to the cutting position thus producing a sheetlike slice piece (B1), a drawing means (6) for drawing the slice piece, a second conveyance means (7) for conveying the slice piece thus cut to the drawing means (6), a means (8) for transferring the slice piece thus drawn onto a substrate (G) in order to make a slice piece specimen (H), and a control means (9) for controlling each means and having a condition table (9b) to which conditions for making a slice piece specimen have been inputted previously, wherein the control means controls each means such that the embedding cassette conveyed by the first conveyance means is made under conditions corresponding to that embedding cassette after matched with the conditions inputted to the condition table.
