<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for managing documents etc. which provides to a system user a menu which permits communication with a document manager and a ASP (Application Services Provider) with satisfactory convenience. <P>SOLUTION: This system is provided with a MFP(Multi-Function Printer) 90 constructed so as to indicate an interactive menu so that a user 72 of the MFP90 is permitted to communicate with a document manager 60. The indicated interactive menu is downloaded from the document manager 60 to the MFP 90 based on the user 72. The document manager 60 is constructed so as to retrieve application services providers (ASPs) 10 to 40 on a network 50 based on input of the user 72. The document manager 60 retrieves documents in the ASP, extracts documents and URLs, and stores the documents and data.
