PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device in which a liquid crystal is favorably controlled and an aperture ratio is increased. SOLUTION: A thin film transistor display panel includes a substrate, gate lines and sustaining electrode lines having sustaining electrodes, a gate insulating film, a semiconductor layer, data lines, drain electrodes, sustaining conductors connected to the drain electrodes, and pixel electrodes having a plurality of cut portions and connected to the data lines, the protective film and the drain electrodes. The sustaining electrode has a branch portion overlapping the cut portion. The sustaining conductor has an extended portion overlapping the cut portion, and the branch portion overlaps the extended portion through the gate insulating film. By providing the sustaining electrode having a branch portion and the sustaining conductor having the extended portion both overlapping the cut portions of the pixel electrode, the aperture ratio of the liquid crystal display device is increased compared to a general liquid crystal display device having a sustaining electrode with no branch portion. Further, a horizontal component of an electric field can be generated to such a degree that a group of cut potions possessed by the pixel electrodes can control the tilt direction of liquid crystal molecules.
