PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve life characteristics of a lead-acid storage battery in the case of use at a low-SOC region. SOLUTION: The lead-acid storage battery contain tungsten in an anode active material by 0.00005 to 0.008 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of Pb as the anode active material. In stead of adding tungsten to the anode active material, a tungsten concentration in a lead alloy as an anode grid is made to be 0.00003 mass% to 0.005 mass%. Or, tungsten contained in a liter of electrolyte solution is made to be 0.00002 mol to 0.02 mol. The configurations are especially effective for a lead-acid storage battery with an interval between a cathode and an anode of 1.50 mm or less. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
