PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an odor trap for a drain pipe preventing the back flow of odor from the drain pipe by positively seating a ball valve on a valve seat communicating with the drain pipe, and rapidly discharging drainage retained in a trap body. SOLUTION: The odor trap for the drain pipe comprises a hollow spherical trap body 1 with its approximate center part 13 swelling in a diametrical direction and having an insertion part 11 of a drain inflow pipe 6 at the upper part and a cylindrical skirt part 12 erected at the bottom part; the ball valve 3; a regulating means 2 for regulating the free movement of the ball valve 3; and the valve seat part 4. The regulating means 2 comprises a ring body 21 fitted into the skirt part 12, and a plurality of guide claws 22 erected on the ring body 21. The valve seat part 4 comprises an outer pipe 41 screwed to the skirt part 12 from the outside, and an inner pipe 42 connected to the outer pipe 41. The ball valve 3 is seated on the opening edge 421 of the inner pipe 42. The opening 5 of the inner pipe 42 is thereby sealed to prevent odor from the drain pipe 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
