PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous gel culture medium having good productivity and causing no damage on germination or growth. SOLUTION: The aqueous gel culture medium comprises aqueous gel, and is formed into a string shape or a belt shape. The aqueous gel culture medium has no need of sowing holes or the like, so that seeds can be easily sowed in a prescribed depth at a space formed between the aqueous gel culture media in a heaped-up body formed by heaping up the culture media in a container or a flat place. The aqueous culture medium causes no damage on germination or growth of the plants because water supply through pouring water and oxygen supply from the air are not inhibited when the seeds are sowed, and also holds a proper amount of water in the inside part of the heaped-up body.
