PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method which can keep the tuning between respective drive rolls and also improve their static characteristics, and further to provide a control apparatus. SOLUTION: A speed sensor S to be connected to the control apparatus 50 measures an actual casting speed V<SB>R</SB>. The control apparatus 50 calculates the deviation e of the actual casting speed V<SB>R</SB>from a target casting speed V<SB>C</SB>by means of a deviation calculating circuit 52. The calculated deviation e is input to an integration circuit 53. A signal to be output from the integration circuit 53 is added to the target casting speed V<SB>C</SB>by means of an addition circuit 54. An input target speed V<SB>C</SB>' to be output from the addition circuit 54 is output to respective speed control circuits C<SB>1</SB>to C<SB>N</SB>as the target speed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
