PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner of a cyclone system canister type, which has a simplified construction. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner includes: a dust box housing part 1f formed on the front of a vacuum cleaner body 1 of a canister type; a motor-driven blower storing chamber 1d formed in the back part of the vacuum cleaner body 1; a front wall 36 having a connection port 4 to which a suction hose is connected; and a cyclone system dust box 2 disposed in the dust box housing part 1f, wherein the dust box 2 includes: a dust box body 5, the side of which is provided with a suction pipe 16 formed to communicate with the connection port 4; an upper lid part 14, which blocks the upper end opening of the dust box body 5, and the rear end of which is provided with an exhaust port 30 communicating with the motor-driven blower storing chamber 1f; and cylindrical filters 6, 7 fixed in the state of being hung down from the upper lid part 14, located in the central part in the dust box body, and filtering the air in the dust box body 5 and guiding it to the upper lid part.
