PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of removing fine dust accumulated in a filter by a little movement of a beating brush provided in a dust collection part. SOLUTION: This vacuum cleaner is provided with a filter 7 having a plurality of recesses/projections 7a and 7b aligned periodically in an air suction side of an electric blower 8 of the dust collection part 6, and the beating brush 12 having a plurality of projecting portions 12a and longitudinally movably supported; and the plurality of projecting portions 12a are disposed at a prescribed interval so as to abut on the recesses/projections 7a and 7b of the filter respectively by the longitudinal movement of the beating brush 12.
