<p>The valve body (12) includes a replaceable water jacket insert (14) and an axially (18) extending, replaceable barrel (16), used when casting the cavity of a cylinder. The water jacket insert is fastened detachably to the valve body by pushing the barrel axially through a bore in the water jacket casing and rotating or pushing it into an axial holder of the valve body. When assembled, a clamping wedge (20) is aligned with the barrel and moved radially (22), to clamp the water jacket insert in precise location, against the valve body. The cavity (24) for the clamping wedge also includes a surface forming an end stop (25) for it (20). The barrel has a radial recess, of which one surface (47') acts as a stop for the wedge during assembly. When clamping is complete, the stop surfaces include the wedging angle between them. The wedging cavity extends across the axial direction (18). The wedging cavity is a blind hole, its base including a threaded bore. The clamping wedge has a threaded bore and a U-shaped cross section. The assembly is further detailed, salient features include the three cross sections of the barrel, the third of which is rectangular. A drive unit is provided to push the water jacket insert out and away from the valve body.</p> |
