[Also in Divisions E2 and F2] A cable clamp has pairs of jaws 8, 10 and 9, 11 biassed by leaf springs 36, 37, 38, 39 into contact with the cable 4. The jaws are actuated by links 12, 14 and 13, 15 through cam faces to give a self-clamping action. The links are pivoted at 18, 20, 19, 21 to the clamp bodies 6, 7 which are moved in opposite directions to pull the cable by a two-armed lever 26 connected to a control lever fast with shaft 27 and rods 24, 25. Another control lever 28 is pivoted to an extension 22 of the link 12 ,and to an arm 32 pivoted to an extension 23 of link 13. A lever 34 pivoted at 35 to lever 28 can be pulled to release the jaws from the cable so that the latter can be pulled manually. |
