A coin roll storage (1) has a storage body (la) and coin roll drawers (11) ((12, 13)). Each of the coin roll drawers has coin roll storage sections (14), each capable of storing a single coil roll. Coin roll presence/absence detection means (18) detects the presence and absence of a coin roll in each coin roll storage section (4) of the coin roll drawers both when the coin roll drawer (11) is pushed into the container body (la) and when the pushed-in coin roll drawer is drawn out of the container body (la). The presence and absence of a coin roll in each coin roll storage section (14) when the coin roll drawer (11) is pushed into the container body (la) is compared with the presence and absence of the coin roll in each coin roll storage section (14) when this pushed-in coin roll drawer is drawn out.
