LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a driving method thereof are provided to form a storage capacitor by means of the previous stage gate line and the gate line before last, thereby supplying different storage voltage according to the polarity of the data voltage applied to each pixel. A gate line(22) is formed on an insulating substrate(10). A data line(62) is crossly connected with the gate line. A TFT(Thin Film Transistor) is connected with the gate line and the data line. A pixel electrode(82) is electrically connected with the TFT and arranged between the previous gate line next to the gate line and the gate line before last next to the previous gate line. A drain electrode(66) is connected with the TFT and the pixel electrode and insulated from the previous gate line. The pixel electrode is overlapped with the previous gate line or the gate line before last. Plural pixel electrodes are also arrayed along the gate lines and alternately overlapped with the previous gate line and the gate line before last.
