PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a hydraulic fluid efficiently flow to an impeller from a turbine, by restraining separation of the hydraulic fluid from a stator and generation of a vortex on the outer peripheral side of the stator. SOLUTION: This stator 23 is arranged between the impeller 21 of a torque converter and the turbine 22, and has a stator shell 35, a stator blade 36 and a stator core 61. The stator shell 35 is an annular member. A plurality of stator blades 36 are arranged so as to radially extend from the annular stator shell 35. The stator core 61 has a first annular part 62 arranged on the outer peripheral side of the stator blade 36 and a second annular part 63 arranged on the outer peripheral side of the first annular part 62, smaller in the length in the axial direction than the first annular part 62 and arranging a tapered surface 64 of gradually reducing the length in the axial direction outward in the radial direction, on a side surface of the turbine 22 side.
