PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation direction switching device of a cylinder for continuously opening and closing a supply passage and a discharge passage of a pressure fluid by external driving force without using a power source. SOLUTION: This operation direction switching device 100 of the cylinder is composed of a toggle device 1 having the reversing function and a directional selector valve 2 for switching supply/discharge ports of a working fluid of the cylinder. The toggle device 1 has an operation ring 7, a main reversing shaft 4, a main spring 8, a driven reversing shaft 5 and a driven spring 10, and operates a spool 16 of the directional selector valve 2 by performing the reversing action. The toggle device 1 is reversed by contact with a forward motion side contact body or a backward motion side contact body interlocking with the operation ring 7 and a piston shaft of a double acting cylinder, and continuously reciprocatably operates the double acting cylinder by switching the supply/discharge ports of the directional selector valve 2.
