PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor wherein wear of the spiral beginning-part of a tip seal is restrained. SOLUTION: The scroll compressor comprises: a fixed scroll having an end plate with a discharge hole made in the center and a spiral body erected on the end plate; a tip seal fixedly fit in a tip seal-fixing groove formed on the end face of the spiral body of the fixed scroll; a movable scroll having an end plate and a spiral body erected on the end plate to form a plurality of paired operation spaces by meshing with the spiral body of the fixed scroll; a tip seal fixedly fit in the tip seal-fixing groove formed on the end face of the spiral body of the movable scroll; a main spindle; a swirl driving mechanism wherein the main-spindle rotation is converted to a swirl motion, and transmitted to the movable scroll, and a rotation-preventive mechanism for the movable scroll.
