A method for reverse modeling is provided to perform a reverse modeling work of following a process performed by the first designer using a three-dimensional CAD(Computer-Aided Design) program, based on mesh data of an object. Mesh data are detected and set to a feature, and a reference coordinate of the set mesh data is set(S100). A work plane, on which sketch of the set mesh data is to be projected, is set(S110). Section data of the mesh data are projected on the work plane(S120). The projected data are divided into characteristic segments according to curvature distribution, and sketch data are generated using the segments(S130). Three-dimensional features of the mesh data are generated from the sketch data, and the generated three-dimensional features are stored as model data(S150). The generated sketch data and the three-dimensional features are parametrically connected.
