<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of color material required for color reproduction without narrowing a color reproduction zone. <P>SOLUTION: In a region P, It is judged whether color difference is less than 3 (color difference threshold) or not in a region P if the tone value of small tone-value colors in relation of complementary color included in image data is reduced to 0, and based on the judgement results, a color, in which the tone value of the small tone-value color in relation of complementary color is made 0, (and including a color, which reducing black tone value) is shown.
