PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily realize a high angle of an operating angle, without increasing weight of a cage, without reducing durability and causing a loss in transmission torque by heating by rubbing of the cage and an outer ring. SOLUTION: This fixed type constant velocity universal joint has the outer ring 10 forming a plurality of ball grooves 14 on an inner spherical surface 12, an inner ring 20 forming a plurality of ball grooves 24 making a pair of the ball grooves of the outer ring on an outer spherical surface 22, a plurality of balls 30 transmitting torque by interposing between both ball grooves of the outer ring and the inner ring, and the cage 40 holding the balls by interposing between the inner spherical surface of the outer ring and the outer spherical surface of the inner ring. The outer spherical surface center and the inner spherical surface center of the cage are offset to the opposite side by an equal distance in the axial direction to the joint center. In a longitudinal section of the cage, the opening end side of the outer ring is thickened, and the ball grooves of the outer ring are formed in a tapered shape of diametrically expanding toward the opening end, and the ball grooves of the inner ring are formed in a tapered shape of diametrically expanding toward the anti-opening end side. A thick part 41 of the outer spherical part 42 of the cage is extended in the axial direction, and a recessed part 45 is arranged on the inner spherical surface side peripheral edge of its thick part 41.
