PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polyoxymethylene-polyoxyalkylene block copolymer which provides a molded article having both toughness and flexibility and excellent in impact resistance and provides a film excellent in transparency. SOLUTION: (i) At least one polyoxyalkylene polyol having an OH-group equivalent of 2,500 or more on the average and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.30 or less, or a polyoxyalkylene polyol mixture containing 50 mass% or more of at least one polyoxyalkylene polyol having an OH-group equivalent of 2,500 or more on the average and a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of 1.30 or less is allowed to react with (ii) at least one compound selected from the group consisting of formaldehyde, a formaldehyde multimer, and a formaldehyde polymer containing (-CH<SB>2</SB>O-) as a main structural unit, in the presence of an aldehyde polymerization catalyst.
