PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cycloalkylcarbonylamino acid derivative being a raw material intermediate for a new cycloalkanecarboxamide derivative selectively having cathepsin K inhibitory activity and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The cycloalkylcarbonylamino acid derivative is represented by general formula (I) [R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an alkynyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, a heterocyclic group or the like; ring A is a 5, 6 or 7C cyclic alkylidene group] or its pharmacologically acceptable salt.
