PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correcting a coated surface that can correct a coated surface by swiftly removing a projection on the coated surface with easy operation requiring no skillfulness and causes less scratches on the coated surface, and a tool suitable for conducting the method. SOLUTION: A correcting tool 1 equipped with a nearly ring-shaped cutting part 11, a circular blade edge part 20 composed of an inside fringe of the cutting part 11 and a flank 16 formed at a predetermined relief angle from the blade edge part 20 is used in the method for correcting a coated surface, where the cutting part 11 is placed on the coated surface so that the projection of coating to be removed is located inside the circular blade edge part 20 and slid on the coated surface while pressing the whole blade edge part 20 to the coated surface to remove the projection of coating with the blade edge part 20.
