<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latent heat storage device which accelerates warming up by increasing the temperature of an engine more earlier when the engine is cold started, and has excellent cooling performance at the high revolution and heavy load of the engine. <P>SOLUTION: The latent heat storage device (1) has a water jacket (6) formed between a cylinder bore wall (4) and a cylinder block outer wall (5) in a cylinder block (3) of the engine (2). A latent heat storage agent (7) stored in a close contact with the cylinder bore wall (4) is stored in the water jacket (6). A cooling water container (8) is stored in the water jacket (6). The interior of the cooling water container (8) becomes a cooling water passage. The cooling water passages are formed between (I) the latent heat storage agent (7) stored in contact with the cylinder bore wall (4) and the cylinder block outer wall (5), and between (II) the latent heat storage agent (7) and the water jacket upper edge (6a). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
