PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of preventing defects such as a lens getting dirt and a broken lens barrel collided with something when a photographer shows a photographed image to other people just after the photographing. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a means whereby a user can set a time until the lens barrel collapses when the photographer switches a photographing mode into a reproduction mode; and a means that can change until the mirror barrel collapses depending on a type of the photographing mode.
