PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of setting the reading head position of a signal from an image pickup device small, thereby accelerating the speed of an AF and being downsized. SOLUTION: At least one of reading starting positions of an imaging means is set as a common reading starting position between a reading starting position of an output used for electronic zoom processing and a reading starting position of an output used for focusing.
