PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which easily corrects a variation of an exposure time occurred by an individual difference of operation characteristics of a mechanical shutter, is inexpensive, has a high productivity, and is provided with a high image quality. SOLUTION: The operation characteristics each individual of the mechanical shutter 2 are stored in a storage portion 13. The variation of the exposure time caused by an operational fluctuation of the mechanical shutter 2 is adjusted by varying an amplification factor of a signal from an imaging element 5 based on the operation characteristics of the mechanical shutter 2 stored in the storage portion 13.
