PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus, the external appearance property of which is enhanced while improving assembly work efficiency and which is advantageous to prevent the intrusion of dust into a casing. SOLUTION: First engagement grooves 82 of right and left side surface parts 6404 of a front cover 64 and third engagement grooves 86 of right and left side surface parts 6404 of a rear cover 66 are engaged with first engagement projecting parts of chassis 68 to temporarily attach the front cover 64 and the rear cover 66 to the chassis 68. Next, second engagement projecting parts 92 of side covers 80 and 81 are engaged with the second engagement groove 84 of the front cover 64 and the fourth engagement groove 88 of the rear cover 66 to position the side covers 80 and 81, the front cover 64 and the rear cover 66 in the width direction (anteroposterior direction) of the side covers 80 and 81.
