An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent light leakage and improve a contrast ratio of the LCD by bonding display panels using a transparent material such as silicon. A first display panel includes a first thin film transistor display plate(100a) and a first common electrode display plate that face each other. A second display panel includes a second thin film transistor display plate(100b) and a second common electrode display plate(200b) that face each other. A bonding layer(70) couples the first display panel and the second display panel with each other. The first common electrode display plate includes a first insulating substrate, a first light blocking member formed on the first insulating substrate, a first cover layer formed on the first light blocking member, and a first common electrode(270a) formed on the first cover layer.
