[Also in Division B7] An agricultural trailer for picking up and transporting cut crops comprises a pick-up mechanism 5, Fig. 1, displaceable laterally relative to the vertical plane C, which passes through the mid point of the axle 4 perpendicular thereto to prevent the wheels passing over adjacent swathes. This may be effected either by lateral displacement of the pick-up mechanism on the trailer frame or by setting the wheel axle at an angle to the trailer frame. The axle 4 is pivotally mounted at one side of the frame on a vertical shaft and at the other side by a bracket 30. A coupling rod 36 is secured to the axle by a pin 33 in lugs 32 and has a plate 38 with holes 39 at its other end engageable by a spring-loaded pin. The latter pin may be withdrawn to allow re-positioning by a control mounted with other controls on the trailer draw bar. The trailer body has a conveyer mounted on its floor and an openable rear end for discharge. |
