A display device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to prevent a short circuit between a connection unit and a common electrode by including a light emitting unit formed on a peripheral region except a display region for the insulation film function. A display device includes a substrate(110), a plurality of first and second signal lines, a plurality of driving voltage lines(172), driving voltage line connection units(126), a connection unit, a first thin film transistor, a second thin film transistor, a first electrode, a second electrode, a light emitting unit(370), and an auxiliary unit. The plurality of first and second signal lines are formed to be insulated on the substrate(110). The plurality of driving voltage lines(172) are formed on the same layer with the first signal line. The driving voltage line connection unit(126) is formed on the same layer with the second signal line. The connection unit is electrically connected to the driving voltage line(172) and the driving voltage connection unit(126). The first thin film transistor is connected to the first signal line and the second signal line. The second thin film transistor is connected to the first thin film transistor and the driving voltage line(172). The first electrode is connected to the second thin film transistor. The light emitting unit(370) is formed between the first electrode and the second electrode. The auxiliary unit is formed between the connection unit and the second electrode.
