LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY FOR PERFORMING TIME DIVISIONAL COLOR

An LCD device is provided to compensate for brightness of the LCD by displaying images in divided two sub-fields using a time-division color representation scheme. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device includes plural scan regions, gate and data drivers(400,500), and plural light sources(900). The scan regions include plural pixels which are divided into two sub-pixels(PXa,PXb). The gate driver supplies a gate signal to the pixels. The data driver supplies image and black data signals to the two sub-pixels. The light sources, which include plural single-color light sources and radiate lights to the pixels, are allocated in the respective scan regions. A frame is divided into plural small frames. The single-color light sources radiate lights of different colors to the respective small frames. The image and black data signals are alternately supplied to the two sub-pixels every small frame.
