<p>A method and an apparatus for increasing the standby time of a mobile terminal through efficient processing for an assigned slot in a mobile communication system are provided to achieve access to a sleep state even at the first roll boundary by processing the frame data of an assigned slot in units of a half frame and minimizing the processing delay of a processor. An apparatus for increasing the standby time of a mobile terminal through efficient processing for an assigned slot in a mobile communication system comprises a sleep driving part(640), a data output controller(650), and a sleep state controller(680). The sleep driving part executes deinterleaving and decoding for a received signal and drives a sleep state. The data output controller judges whether the present frame is the first frame of an assigned slot, and outputs only a half frame if the present frame is the first frame. From then, the data output controller outputs a full frame and inserts it in the decoding process of the sleep driving part. The sleep state controller receives the half frame, confirms the fields of a universal page message, and judges access status to the sleep state.</p> |
