the roof tile has an interlocking joint along the top formed by transverse ribs (1.1, 1.2) which from the foot of the central wave (5) on the water rebate side to the apex has a first height followed towards the foot of the wave on the roof rebate side by a second lower height so that the convex roof rebate side has roughly the same profile as the centre wave. The transverse ribs from the foot of the convex roof rebate side to the apex have a first height and then towards the roof rebate edge (2) a second lower height. Either side of the centre wave at the head edge (1) are inwardly and downwardly pointing hanging noses where the outer head edge side rib projects towards fhe boot edge to define an indentation (1.6a).
