To provide a passenger-leg-protection device enabling quick completion of inflation of an airbag (1) without necessitating an increase of performance of gas generating means (3), the upper side and both the left and right sides of an airbag (1) are folded back along a horizontal folding line (10) and vertical folding lines (11) so as to be taken into the airbag, whereby pleated portions (1t, 1s) are formed between a front panel (1j) and a rear panel (1h). Next, the airbag (1) is folded back along horizontal folding lines (12, 13, 14) with the horizontal folding line (10) as a rolling axis, to the side of the rear panel (1h), whereby a roll-folded portion (1R) is formed. Extending portions (1a) of the roll-folded portion (1R), extending from both the left and right sides of a casing (2), are formed into accordion-folded portions (1F), following which the folded article is stored within the casing (2), and a lid (4) is mounted thereon. <IMAGE> |
