A cathode catalyst for a fuel cell is provided to improve the quality of a membrane electrode assembly and a fuel cell system using the same by virtue of its excellent activity and selectivity to reduction caused by an oxidant. A cathode catalyst for a fuel cell comprises: azofullerene(C48N12); and A(Ru or Rh)-Ch(at least one element selected from S, Se and Te) supported on the azofullerene. In the cathode catalyst, A-Ch comprises 20-80 atom%, preferably 40-60 atom% of A and 80-20 atom%, preferably 60-40 atom% of Ch, and is supported on the azofullerene in an amount of 5-80 wt%, preferably 30-70 wt% based on the total weight of the catalyst. |
