A method for confirming information about an analog image input of an image display device is provided to allow a source device to confirm a format of an image signal capable of being processed by the image display device through a certain communication interface when the source device provides the certain analog image signal to the image display device. A source device(201) capable of outputting a certain analog image signal transmits a state command for requesting information about the analog image signal capable of being processed by a DTV(Digital TV)(203) to the DTV(203) connected through an additional communication interface(S501,S503). The source device(201) receives a response transmitted from the DTV(203) on the basis of the transmitted state command and confirms the information about the analog image signal(S507,S509).
