The present invention relates to a fluid filtering means (10) and the filtration process using the filtering means (10) as well as the processes of backwashing or cleaning and rinsing the filtering means. The filtering means (10) has a closed-type body (12) made of stainless steel contains a primary fluid distributor (14) having suitably sized cavities, a secondary fluid distributor (16) having suitably sized cavities and multi layers of filter beds, a primary unfiltered fluid inlet (18) connected to water mains, a X-type multiport valve (20) with a control means, a secondary unfiltered fluid inlet (22). The arrangement enables the switching between filtering, rinsing and backwashing using only one valve. |
