A broadcasting receiver having an E-book function and a driving method therefor are provided to output E-book data stored in a storing device on a screen according to a command inputted by a user. A memory card slot(114) connects with an external storing device. A memory card controller(112) judges whether the external storing device connects to the memory card slot(114), and controls a data input/output through the memory card slot(114). A graphic engine(120) processes E-book data and provides the processed E-book data to an image output unit. A menu providing unit(122) stores E-book menu data and outputs the E-book menu data to the image output unit. When the external storing device connects to the memory card slot(114), a control unit(110) outputs an E-book menu to the image output unit through the menu providing unit(122) and provides E-book data stored in the external storing device to the graphic engine(120) according to an inputted command of a user to output the E-book data to the image output unit.
