An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) is provided to prevent degradation of color reproduction and reduction of a contrast ratio of an image because of misalignment of two display plates, by forming a color filter and a light blocking member of a conductive material on a thin transistor display plate. A color filter is formed on a first substrate. A first electrode is formed on the color filter. An interlayer insulating layer(187) is formed on the first electrode. A light blocking member(220) is formed on the interlayer insulating layer, and partially overlaps the first electrode. A second substrate faces the first substrate. A second electrode is formed on the second substrate. A liquid crystal layer is placed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The light blocking member and the first electrode overlap each other with the interlayer insulating layer interposed therebetween to form a sustain capacitor.
