A vehicle window regulator comprises a glass-supporting gusset 2 secured on a shoe 4 frictionally slidable along a slotted arm 5 mounted in the vehicle door, and an arm 6 pivoted to the shoe 4 at 20 and to a control lever 7 at 21, wherein the control lever 7 is pivoted on the door by an integral pin 17 revolvable in a bearing 9 fixed on the door and connected to a crank handle or motor (not shown) and is formed with integral locating arms 11, 12 connected to traction springs 14, 15 anchored to the door structure, so that the weight of the glass is compensated for irrespective of the position of the lever 7. A stop 8 is provided on the arm 6 to lock the small arm in an overcentre position relative to the control lever 7 when the glass is closed. The slotted arm 5 is curved to accommodate the door curvature and the gusset 2 is resiliently mounted on the shoe 4, by an apertured portion 19, Fig. 4 (not shown), to accommodate the curvature of the arm 5. The glass 1 is trapezoidal, and when closed bears against four corresponding weatherstrips, the slotted arm 5 being so angularly disposed that on movement the glass clears three of the weatherstrips. |
