An indoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to allow air blown from a blow device to be evenly discharged, and to minimize shaking generated during vertical movement of a discharge port unit by arranging a guide for guiding up-and-down flow of air blown from the blow device, and descending and ascending of the discharge port unit in an upper side of the blow device. An indoor unit of an air conditioner comprises a main body(10), a blow device(180), a discharge port unit(250), driven gears(302,306), drive gears(322,324), a rotation device(330) and a guide(350). The main body is provided with an air suction port. The blow device is installed inside the main body. The discharge port unit is arranged to be ascended and descended to an upper part of the main body, and provided with an air discharge port. The driven gears are installed in the discharge port unit. The drive gears are engaged with the driven gears. The rotation device rotates the drive gears. The guide is arranged in an upper side of the blow device, and guides up-and-down flow of air blown from the blow device, and descending and ascending of the discharge port unit.
